We partner with local business leaders, individuals, and organizations in the collection of toys and other items that are distributed the families of patients at CHKD Cancer & Blood Disorder Center as well as pediatric cancer families in the surrounding areas during the Christmas Holiday period. Parents are able to "shop" on us for all of their children, free from worry about the financial burden that often comes with the holidays.
All of this began in 2011, because 5 year old Wes Pak, who had just been diagnosed with neuroblastoma himself, wanted to give all of his toys away to the other children at clinic fighting alongside him. Thus, the toy drive was born. What started with just 5 little red wagons filled with toys has now grown to be able to help many families across Hampton Roads. Wes continued to help collect, sort, and deliver toys to CHKD up until he passed away in 2018. We carry on the toy drive in his memory.
