Protecting our most precious resources - our children and our wildlife
Many children are faced with the devastating diagnosis of cancer. While some go into remission upon completion of upfront therapy, there are many children who see disease progression, relapse or are terminal from diagnosis. With our program, it is our hope that we can help fulfill small, but meaningful wishes for these young fighters, and bring a glimpse of happiness, even if only for a moment, during their cancer journey.
Thank you for your $5,000 grant towards making these wishes happen!
Jack is a 10 year old boy from North Carolina currently a patient fighting relapsed lymphoma for the second time at CHKD. He dreams of growing up to be a veterinarian. Because he had never been, Jack's wish was to visit Washington DC and go to the National Zoo. The Wes Strong Foundation provided Jack with a 4 day/3 night stay at the Grand Hyatt in the heart of DC with VIP status where he was treated like a celebrity. He was also able to go on a behind the scenes, up close and personal tour of the zoo in which he was able to interact with animals like an elephant, cheetah, anteater, and more! We also provided financial support for any additional expenses they may have such as souvenirs, food, gas, etc. Jack's mom said many memories were made that they will never forget.
Cody is an amazing 6 year old little boy from Norfolk, Va and has been fighting rhabdomyosarcoma since 2016. After a long year of intense treatment, Cody was declared no evidence of disease in June 2017. Unfortunately, Cody started to become jaundice again in March 2019, and it was determined that Cody had relapsed. Cody was inpatient 3 hours away at Georgetown recovering from back to back liver transplants and complications. The Wes Strong Team and 501st Legion surprised Cody with the giant LEGO set in the hospital.

Kaylee is a sweet 10 year old warrior princess and patient at CHKD in Norfolk, VA, who was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma at the age of 2. Since then she has faced several relapses, but continues to fight with a smile on her face. Recently, her parents heard the words no parent ever wants to hear about their child upon finding out that the disease has spread throughout her bone marrow. They will be doing another round of chemo to try and buy more time. A gaming laptop has been on Kaylee's wish list, and thanks to our supporters, her wish has been filled!

David is a 13 year old local boy who loves cycling, camping, and gaming. He has been a patient at the Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters in Norfolk, VA since 2017 after being diagnosed with Pre-B Cell Leukemia. David recently found out that his cancer is back for a third time. David has been wanting a gaming computer for some time, and received all of the necessary accessories for Christmas. However, due to the news of the recent relapse, he has been unable to get the CPU... until now. With your help, David received a custom-built gaming CPU made just for him.
